Ruth is the Founder and first President of Lamorinda Village. She has been a mover and shaker in Lafayette for 40+ years. A 2017 Diablo Magazine Threads of Hope recipient, we are proud to have Ruth helping us connect Lamorinda elders. After graduating from Duke University with a degree in Business Administration, she married and had three children. During that time, she moved to Lafayette and became active in Lafayette Juniors. She then went to work for Transamerica Title where she designed and delivered organizational development and training programs at two subsidiaries. She eventually became Manager of Corporate Development. In 1994, she retired and began her non-profit work by joining the Lafayette Garden Club and becoming a Commissioner for Lafayette Senior Services. That led to membership in the Area Agency on Ageing for Contra Costa County. It was there that she identified the need for a Village in our Lamorinda community – and the rest is history!
