Larry Toy — Orinda, Past President, Board Member

Larry was President of Lamorinda Village from 2019-22. He also serves on the national Village to Village Network Board. He was the founding President/CEO of the Foundation for California Community Colleges, the statewide foundation supporting 100+ community colleges and 2,000,000 students. Prior to that, he was a professor of astronomy at Chabot College for 28 years. Larry served on the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges and served as Board President. He served on the California Council of Science and Technology and was a founding member of the Chabot Space and Science Center Board in Oakland, CA. Larry has been honored by two California Assembly Resolutions and received the first Outstanding Faculty Award for the California Community College System. He was awarded the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Harvard Club of San Francisco. Larry has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, and a master’s and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, all in astronomy.
