Joyce Hawkins — Orinda, Secretary, Board Member

The former Mayor of Orinda, Joyce has been an active community member for many years. Her professional experience includes teaching and tutoring math and co-owning a small business, International Experiences, Inc. Joyce served on the Orinda School Board from 1978 to 1985. She was elected to the Orinda City Council in 1992 and served on the council until 2004. During that time, she was instrumental in building the Orinda Library as well as the gymnasium at Wagner Ranch Elementary School. She also co-chaired the committee that successfully incorporated Orinda as a city after two previous failed attempts. For her many contributions, Joyce was recognized as Orinda’s Citizen of the Year in 1985. In addition to serving on the Lamorinda Village board since 2014, Joyce is an active member of the Rotary Club of Orinda. She believes strongly in a commitment to the community and local education.
