HomeOur Donors 2015

Our Donors

Lamorinda Village is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This means we exist solely for the benefit of the people we serve: our members. We have no stockholders to satisfy; the community itself “owns” Lamorinda Village.

Being nonprofit means that all revenue remaining after expenses is re-invested back into our programs and services. A voluntary Board of Directors serves without pay to determine our policies, make major financial planning decisions, and oversee our single paid employee. (You can see who serves on our Board – your neighbors in Lamorinda – on our Staff and Board of Directors page.)  From a funding standpoint, being nonprofit means that our revenue comes from a combination of membership fees and charitable sources. Our supporters make it possible for us to offer services, coordinate our volunteer program, and -- through our Supported Membership program -- to serve those who could not otherwise afford to take advantage of the Village services.

We are grateful for our many donors who are helping us continue to grow Lamorinda Village. We depend on the support of these individuals, businesses, and organizations to help us achieve our mission: Actively building a community that embraces connections, caring, and choices in how we live and thrive.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

The following donors contributed dually to Lamorinda Village and the Alzheimer’s Association through the Alzheimer’s Association nonprofit team donation program. More than $800 was raised by our Village and was shared equally with the Alzheimer’s Association for their 4th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held in October, 2015.

We thank these donors, some of whom also walked the event. We look forward to the 5th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's this fall and hope you’ll join our team in 2016!
